OpArt of The Cleveland School

Op Art of the Cleveland School, a dazzling exhibition of important works from the Op Art movement. Drawing heavily upon contribu- tions by the Bauhaus to the study of color theory—as well as advancements within the field of psychology relating to human perception—Op (short for ‘optical’) Art is characterized by hard edged, geometric abstraction, intended to produce visual effects (often described as ‘sparkling’ or ‘pulsating’) within the viewer. Featuring works by Cleveland School luminaries Richard Anuszkiewicz, Julian Stanczak, and Edwin Mieczkowski, this sensational exhibition is a testament to Cleveland’s crucial role in the development and expansion of the Op Art movement.
