Description:

Catching the eye of an onlooker, the youthful goddess crouches at her bath. This bronze version is based on the Greek Hellenistic original sculpture from 200 BC. The Royal Collection Trust owns a 2nd-century AD Roman version, which resides at the British Museum. Her iconic pose and loosely gathered hair have served as inspiration to artists in the Renaissance, such as Giambologna and Marcantonio Raimondi.
