The Officer's uniform is consistent with late 18th Century Royal Artillery uniforms which were blue with red facing, a gorget and a white sord belt. This is a full-dress uniform which included  a gorget, sword belt and sash around the waist. These are signs of a gentleman on duty. The sword belt plate bears a shield and other motifs consistent with the type work by Royal Artiller Officers.
