The Strange World of George Mauersberger
"Brownie,” a drawing done by coating a sheet of paper with charcoal and then drawing with an eraser. Brownie was a cow belonging to my brother John, who is a farmer. Brownie was an orphan, who was treated like a pet. She hung out by my brother’s house and would run alongside the car with the dogs when I drove up. She and the dogs were pals. When she became fully grown she joined the other cows in the pasture and became a mother. Brownie died of old age on the farm years later." - George Mauersberger
