Description:

Leonardo's Horse is a sculpture that was commissioned of Leonardo da Vinci in 1482 by Duke of Milan Ludovico il Moro, but never completed by the artist. In 1977, Charles C. Dent, an amateur artist, found the nonprofit Leonardo da Vinci’s Horse, Inc. (LDVHI). In 1997, LDVHI brought Nina Akamu on to finish the horse. Two full-size casts were made of the 24-foot design. The primary horse being placed at the Hippodrome de San Siro in Milan. This 15-inch horse is a finely articulated, well patinated bronze, raised on a wooden base after Akamu’s design.
