Johann Till the Younger trained in Vienna under his father Johann Till the elder (1800-1889).  His father’s predominant interests were historical scenes.  Johann Till studied at the Academy of Fine Arts of Vienna under Leopold Kupelwieser (1796-1862) and Christian Ruben (1805-1875).

He traveled extensively to Italy, Germany and France.  He exhibited at the Academy domestic and genre subjects treated with attention to details and colors.  He was a sensitive observer of his rural surroundings.  He included farms animals in many his paintings.
