Johann Till the Younger trained in Vienna under his father Johann Till the elder (1800-1889). His father’s predominant interests were historical scenes. Johann Till studied at the Academy of Fine Arts of Vienna under Leopold Kupelwieser (1796-1862) and Christian Ruben (1805-1875).
He traveled extensively to Italy, Germany and France. He exhibited at the Academy domestic and genre subjects treated with attention to details and colors. He was a sensitive observer of his rural surroundings. He included farms animals in many his paintings.
