Luba Schiff was a German-American artist. Born in 1912 in Dresden, Germany, Schiff immigrated to the US with her parents Lydia and Jacob, a portrait painter. Schiff’s early years were spent in Chicago, training with her father and being featured at the Art Institute of Chicago in 1934. She then moved to New York, taking classes at the Art Students League and showing her work at the Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibit.

In 1943, Luba Married James Vrettos, moving to Colorado in 1956. Her paintings throughout the decades progressed from still lifes and portraiture to a more chimerical subject matter.

Schiff died in 2007.
